Right now it’s a four player game but I hope they develop expansions for it. This picture was taken after I had won the game. Great fun! I can not overstate how great this game is. I was skeptical, but it’s way way way more than Catan in cosplay. If you like Catan, you’re going to love Star Trek Catan. You don’t even have to like Star Trek, but it helps. Hhmm, I read in game magazines that it’s basically the same as the “settlers of catan” so I didn’t give it a closer inspection at the games fair last october. Kosmos has the rules (German) online - I guess I will take a look at them :-)

I can not overstate how great this game is. I was skeptical, but it’s way way way more than Catan in cosplay. If you like Catan, you’re going to love Star Trek Catan. You don’t even have to like Star Trek, but it helps.

Kosmos has the rules (German) online - I guess I will take a look at them :-)

fuckyeahaltars: My Gnostic Mass inspired corner altar. No longer in use, but a pretty altar all the same. hen I moved in I found I had the most wonderful loft space office with a shelf unit/ table that comes to about waist height when kneeling and above two shelves. For a long time I have not kept a permanent altar for a number of reasons, being its obviousness and the unwanted attention it can bring. I have decided to designate my office ‘private space’ and to establish an altar and ‘working room’. My altar is a scaled down imagination of the high altar in Aleister Crowley’s Gnostic Mass. This ritual, and the ideas expressed in it are central to Thelema, and although new and innovative ritual forms are being created, the Gnostic Mass has an enduring and special place within me. I suppose having witnessed several Masses the poetry and symbolism spoke to me. On my altar is my thoth tarot, candles, my censer, cup, the enochian tablet of union and various items of power (fetishes, talismen etc). Leaning in in the periphery my ‘Set Staff’ and the hilt of my sword can be seen. There are also red roses, which as well as a part of the Gnostic mass altar, are also a meaningful personal symbol. On the level above is the Book Of The Law flanked by 12 candles and again some items of power. At the top are 8 candles and an image of the stele of revealing, which has a central importance in Thelema, and to me. In the long run I would hope to get or make a proper stele for this position. On the periphery of the picture you can catch the corners of two of the four enochian Watchtowers. You can also sees my very old PC in the periphery which is a major magickal implement (and handy record keeper). Frater Docet Umbra (often called Brian for short) is a navigator in spiritual worlds, a poet, a boundary walker, and a magus. He is an initiate of the Irish Order Of Thelema (www.irishorderofthelema.com), and works with Irish traditions, shamanism, Witchraft, hermetic traditions, Thelema and many other streams as they serve his desire and will.
